Esplanade: Fifteenth Night of Chinese New Year - the first full moon night of the lunar calendar. This day marks the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations, normally celebrated in Penang with an "orange throwing" (to get good husbands) event by young girls at the sea off Esplanade (sort of Penang's Chinese Valentine's Day) and the traditional "dondang sayang" serenaders going around the island in an elaborately decorated bus.
